Fabric is a textile production method in which two or more distinct sets of yarns or threads are intertwined to form a fabric or cloth. Whereas knitting is the production of fabric by employing a continuous yarn or set of yarns to form a series of interlocking loops. Weaving, or inlaying, is a related but different technique used to thread an additional yarn(s) into the fabric without knitting it. The woven yarns need not be the same thickness or color as the knitted yarn, and almost always (but not necessarily) follow the horizontal rows (wales) of knitting. Because the extra yarn simply goes back and forth between the knit stitches, it can be pulled out unless it is somehow secured on the sides.
The resulting fabric looks more like a woven texture than a knit because the additional strand reduces its elasticity. Although weaving and knitting are fabric-making techniques, they have many differences. However, the following are the differences between knitting and weaving.

Nowadays there are two ways in which clothes are prepared: weaving and knitting. They may look similar but they're not. So let's take a look at their main definitions followed by their differences.
Weavingis defined as the process of creating a fabric through interlacing yarns.
There are two sets of yarns that are used in interlacing: warp and weft. There are many knit stitches but some of the simplest ones are garter stitch, jersey stitch, garter stitch double garter stitch etc. The fabric can be created using four weaving methods: plain weave (tabby), twill weave (satin), satin weave (crepe) and lever knitting method. The lever knitting method is considered to be fastest method for forming a fabric. It's interesting to note that hand weaving was invented by Spanish Christian Royal Families in 13th century AD. Thus both weaving and knitting are important in creation of new types of textiles and fabrics. However non-functional fabrics aren't unique to tapestry and can really be anything you want them to be. The loops created in knitted fabrics that form basis for fabrics are called “stitches” while those in woven fabrics are called warp and weft. Weaving and knitting are two different processes for producing knitted fabrics and woven fabrics respectively thus in production unit both techniques can be used. Fundamentally knitting weaving and crocheting have very different structure because they all essentially created by entangling yarns in different ways at least to certain extent. Fabrics created when you take 2 strands of yarn one vertical (warp) and one horizontal (weft) and cross one over other to create cloth. Fabric used to attach horizontal strands of yarn that pass unused behind stitches formed with other yarn inside cloth. In weaving process two sets of yarns intertwined at right angles according to design to produce cloth. The structure uses and history of knitting weaving and crocheting unique to each individual technique. For inlaid knitting method additional yarns passed behind or in front each stitch as it's woven similar to slip stitch knitting technique. Knitted fabrics and woven fabrics differ from each other quality wise that knitted fabrics more elastic because yarns run consecutively each row whereas woven pieces cloth less stretchable since they have yarns intertwined transverse pattern. The main difference between knitting and weaving that knitting means entangling yarns such way that they form loops while weaving means intertwining two sets yarns at right angles according create design thus producing cloth.
